Great Quotes >Spoonerisms. So what the heck is a spoonerism? It is the interchanging parts of two different words in a
phrase. It is named after the Reverend William Archibald Spooner (1844-1930), Dean and Warden of New College, Oxford.
We're going to give credit to John Q. Public for these "spoonerisms," because it is questionable as to whether the source of all of these are from the Reverand Spooner.
